At my old elementary school, we would constantly have people coming in and trying to steal money from a broke public school. This elementary school was surrounded by a neighborhood filled with children and stay at home mothers. The police stopped showing up when I was in 5th grade and told the principal for us to just deal with it ourselves.
And now in high school, after the Charleston shooting, my chemistry teacher was reading the email from the Mesa Police Department about what to do about a shooting LIKE IT WAS JUST AN ANNOUNCMENT ABOUT THE BATHROOMS BEING BROKEN AGAIN.
